Students in grades 3-5 across DeKalb County are now preparing for the 2025 DeKalb Elementary Science Olympiad (DESO 2025). Teams are building catapults, pasta cars, and water rockets. They are estimating masses and measuring volumes. They are collecting leaves and pinecones to identify trees and practicing bird calls. In short, they are having a great time!
The Olympiad begins with a parade, and winners get medals. Our tournament is a Regional Qualifier – top teams will advance to STATE! DeKalb County has an outstanding group of Science Olympiad teams and one of the largest elementary programs in Georgia.
