Spotted Dusky Salamander
Desmognathus conanti

Description

  • light line stretching from the corner of the mouth to the eye
  • keeled tails,(compressed from the sides and "knife-edged" above)
  • 6-8 pairs of spots, which can be reddish or golden in color

Habitat

Most often found in forest brooks, small streams, and seeps. They rarely stray far from these areas.

Range

Found in the southeastern United States
