Science Newsletters

In memory of Ginny Johnston.
Ginny Johnston joined with Judy Cutchins in the concept and creation of the childrens’ science newsletters. Thanks to Ginny and Judy, the newsletters have presented science in a format that helps students enjoy the learning experience. The newsletters continue to be used by DeKalb County teachers, parents and care-givers as instructional tools.
The U.S. (Understanding Science) newsletters are produced at grade appropriate reading levels. Ready for U.S. is for students in grades pre-K through 1; Primarily for U.S. is for students in grades 2-3; and Just for U.S. is for students in grades 4-5. Each issue addresses a single science topic and adheres to the Georgia Performance Standards. Your feedback and suggestions for future topics are welcome. Please contact Dr. Linda Logdberg with questions, comments, or suggestions Linda_A_Logdberg@fc.dekalb.k12.ga.us.
