Nature into Art: the Nest

Since prehistoric people painted animals on the walls of caves 30,000 years ago, artists have chosen nature as the subject of their work. This exhibit, Nature into Art: the Nest, focuses on bird nests. In this exhibition, you will see actual birds’ nests alongside works by artist Lynne Moody, who often uses birds’ nests, and eggs, as her subjects. Nature and biology provide an inexhaustible source of ideas and forms for this Atlanta artist. She often renders realistic drawings of her subjects before transforming them to express complex feelings and ideas about human and animal ecology.
