Since joining the staff of Fernbank Science Center, my work has been inspired by science and natural history. Providing ever changing platforms for ideas and creativity, the disciplines of science instruction and design inspire and cross pollinate each other. The design of instructional media for Fernbank Science Center, includes art and graphic design for the Jim Cherry Memorial Planetarium. I especially enjoy working with our astronomers on planetarium programs for children. All but one of the posters on exhibition are a representation of this work.

A gift for art led to degrees in art and design from the University of Georgia and Syracuse University, in New York. At Syracuse University, I taught design in the School of Visual and Performing Arts. Over the years, I have continued to enjoy teaching art and design through programs at Fernbank Science Center and through private classes. Design has included interiors, exhibits and graphics for Fernbank Science Center as well as other museums and organizations in Georgia and in the northeast. As a fine artist, a favorite medium is watercolor. I am privileged to have work in private collections.

Fernbank Science Center continues to inspire my love for natural history. I love the beauty of my home state of Georgia, especially the Georgia coast and coastal islands, which have been an inspiration. Over the years, I have developed a lasting affection for reptiles and amphibians!
