I have always loved animals and have been fascinated by “creepy crawlies” such as insects, lizards, and frogs. In college I majored in entomology which culminated in a Ph.D. degree in systematics where I studied Phasmida (walking stick) insects. Currently, I spend my days teaching students and teachers in DeKalb County schools about biology with an emphasis on natural history and evolution. My primary concern is for the academic success of my students, and I strive to encourage their interest in the natural world.
