Field Marks
  • Deep blue plumage (in poor light appears black)

Habitat

A common summer bird in the rural east, in farmland, brushy pastures, and woodland edges

Status

Indigo Buntings are common summer residents in the metro Atlanta area.  They are often seen singing on power lines.
