Eastern Bluebird
Sialia sialis

• Bright blue upper parts
• Orange-red throat, breast and sides
• White belly and undertail coverts

Habitat

This species prefers open land with scattered trees for perching, nesting, and feeding purposes. They are often seen in parks, gardens, hedges, and other areas that provide perching areas. They are also commonly found sitting on fences and utility wires. 

Status

Eastern Bluebirds are common, permanent residents of the Atlanta area.  They are commonly spotted on power lines and fence posts.
